Christian International School of Prague

The Chess School Vávra & Černoušek is led by the international masters IM Pavel Vávra and IM Lukáš Černoušek. Besides playing in the highest chess tournaments, we also teach young people and organize chess clubs for beginners as well as for seniors and talented students.

The club is for everyone – for kids from the first up to the ninth grade. Our aim is to teach children the basic rules and the strategy of chess but we also want them to keep a positive attitude towards the game and have a good time playing it. The first part of the lesson is dedicated to theory and to revising the basics, the other to the game itself where the children can immediately apply what they have learnt. Occasional tournaments are also a part of the lessons.

The club takes place right in your school every Monday at 15:00. The first lesson takes place on 7. 9. 2020, the last one on 31. 5. 2021. Each lesson is 60 minutes long. The consent of parents is necessary for participation of a child. The child can come to the lesson on his or her own or the lecturer will pick him or her up from the nursery where he will also take them back after the lesson.

Nothing, but if your child owns a chess set, it would be better if he or she would bring it.

We also organize tournaments for pupils of elementary schools where children from different schools can compete. There is “Hledáme tři krále” (A Search for the Three Kings) at the beginning of January and “Čarodějnický rej” (The Witch Party) at the turn of April and May. You can look at the photos from these events on .

The course costs 2700,- Kč per semester. The course can be paid by a postal money order or directly to the lecturer in cash. The first two lessons are free.

Send a not-binding e-mail (with the name, grade and school of the child) below 7 day before the beginning of the course at latest on the address.
